Mosta DomeMosta is most famous for its church and huge dome, one of the largest in Europe. During the Second World War an enormous bomb full straight through the dome and landed amongst the congregation; it failed to explode. A replica is to be found in the church museum.

Nearby are the Victoria Lines, several deep valleys, ancient chapels and Malta's 'lake district', Chadwick Lakes.

A short bus ride away are the villages of Naxxar, with its magnificent Palazzo Parisio, and Gharghur.
